Confiding Kestrel

The first of this sequence was taken with the 1.4tc attached to the Sigma 500mm. I would not really advise using this combination as only 5 or so out of 20 pictures were really approaching sharp. Fortunately this Kestrel was most intent on catching lunch and allowed a slightly closer approach…

The Sigma 500mm is a superb lens on its own, but having tried it with the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 1.4 and the Nikon tc 1.4 (with the metal tab removed) it is just not autofocus reliable with a teleconverter.
